The other night I watched the movie "Julie and Julia" which came out in 2009 and if you haven't seen it the movie is about a women going through and cooking all of Julia Child's recipes in her first cook book and then blogging about it. So no I know this is not an original idea but it inspired me to start cooking and this way I can at least keep track of what recipes I should or shouldn't try to make when my boyfriend's parents come for dinner.
However, unlike the movie I will not be using Julia Child's book because to be honest I don't think I would like most of the foods in the book. And in today's Internet world I don't hear of too many people using cook books any more, so instead of using a cook book I am going to use recipes from Allrecipes.com. I will go through and only use recipes off of that page and nothing else and I will blog about everything!
I will tell you:
- I will tell you all the good and the bad with each recipe I do.
- I will include the recipe and the changes I would suggest making.
- I will include the real time it actually takes a normal person to make it.
- I will try to describe the taste
- I will add pictures of the final product after a normal person tries to make it, cause let's face it, unless your a pro, it will never look the same as the picture and I want to know if I am going to have to use the famous phrase, "It tastes better then it looks"
- I will include the price of ingredients and the places I bought them because lets face it, I'm working my first job out of college and well, I'm poor, so how much a recipe is going to cost me is one of the most important things!
Well I guess that's it for now...wish me luck!
